Our Senior Pastor received Jesus as his personal Savior and Lord when he was 14 years old, and was baptized at the Seminole Heights Baptist Church, Tampa, Florida. At the age of 17, he experienced the call of God upon his life to serve in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was ordained at his home church, the Seminole Heights Baptist Church.

Bro. Doug’s life verse is Luke 19:10 which says, “The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

It is Brother Doug’s life goal to faithfully witness and teach the Word of God in everything he says and does each day. Pastor Doug has been blessed with a family that is also committed to serve with him toward the same goal.

Pastor Doug has been married to his wife, Donna Sides for 38 years. Donna assists teaching a Sunday School class and is active in the Praise Band and Choir at Yulee Baptist. Their grown daughter (Dallas Barfield) is active in the Praise Team at her church where her husband (D.J. Barfield) and their two girls are actively serving the Lord. Their son Darren along with his wife (Brandy Sides), experienced God’s call to ministry and he is currently serving on staff as the Minister of Discipleship and Families at Southside Baptist Church, Jacksonville. Pastor Doug has a loving family that has followed his leadership in serving Christ. They are committed to sharing Jesus to the lost and leading Christians to grow in service to the Lord.
